rawalpindi -  Mystery surrounds the killing of a young man and a woman whose dead bodies were found lying in a car parked in the garage of a house at Satellite Town.

Police, after filing a report in daily crime register, are investigating the case.

The deceased identified as Taimoor Amjad (24) and Amina Sabir (21) were told to be graduates from a university. Police moved the dead bodies to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for post-mortem.  A police officer told this correspondent that the young man and woman committed suicide by swallowing poison after their families refused to get them married with each other.

According to details, in the night falling between Friday and Saturday, Taimoor and Amina were found dead in a car parked in garage of the house of Taimoor in Satellite Town within limits of Police Station New Town. The death of the couple came to light only after the mother of Taimoor and a young boy, who is residing on the first floor of the house, broke the shutter of garage with the help of others. “The dead body of Taimoor was lying on floor while the girl’s body was in car,” the mother of Tamioor told police. Rescue 1122 was called which shifted the dead bodies to hospital.

Station House Officer (SHO) of police station New Town, Muhammad Yasin said that according to preliminary investigation, it was suggested that Taimoor arrived home late and parked the car in the garage on ground floor but did not arrive at the second floor where his family resides.

According to information gathered by police, Taimoor and Amina were in love from their college days and wanted to marry but their families were against this. Both were engaged in recent past with separate people but both were unhappy over their engagements.

DSP New Town Circle Raja Taifoor, while talking to The Nation, said that it was tragic incident and the police had been directed to investigate the matter from all aspects.

“The garage was locked from inside and there was no sign of torture or wound on the dead bodies. In such a situation, either the couple ate something to commit suicide or they died due to suffocation as there was no window or ventilator in the garage,” he said. He said a bottle of spray was also found from the car which was taken into custody by police. He said police also sent different samples of the deceased for examination to forensic lab Lahore.
