It is disheartening to mention that every year more than 7 hundred girls and boys are compelled to marry. The UNICEF called child marriage a curse for small girls, it is a main reason of sexual abuse, exploitation of girls. Nearly 15 million girls under the age 18 are married each year. Shockingly, it has been observed that in 2050, the cases flourished into 1.2 billion girls. More importantly, each year more than 70, 000 girls aged between 15 and 19 met their maker during pregnancy in child birth in Pakistan. According to the Institute of Social Justice (ISJ) in Pakistan, 48 percent of population is children and a large number of children are married, even though at the age of seven. What is shocking is that earlier in 2008-9, 24228 children at the between the ages of 10-14 were married and 10,29,784 children at the age of 15 to 19 were done and in most of the cases it was done forcefully. Even half of the girls at the age of 15-18 were pregnant and had babies to take care of which causes numerous diseases to them. Thus, it is the dire requirement of our society to change their mindsets and behaviour towards women.
