SADIQABAD-The political parties have given a strong message to India by participating in All-Parties Conference (APC), called by the government on Kashmir situation that Pakistanis are united on the issue and stand behind Kashmiris brethren in their struggle for freedom.

PML-N MPA Kanji Ram stated while addressing a gathering here the other day. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has won Kashmiris’ heart by raising the burning Kashmir issue in the UNGA in an effective manner. “We will fight shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces if a war is imposed on Pakistan,” he pledged, adding the country’s sovereignty will never be compromised.

On the other hand, Tehsil Bar Association (TBA) observed a strike to express solidarity with Kashmiris. According to TBA spokesman Malik Abdul Rauf Solangi, the lawyers boycotted court proceedings, saying the occupying Indian forces have exceeded all limits of barbarism and brutality in the held Kashmir. He also urged the world community to resolve the issue at the earliest for the settlement of lasting peace in the region.


Ejaz Ahmed Dewana has been elected unopposed as an additional secretary of All Pakistan Fourth-Grade Govt Employee Association. The office bearers of the association including Sheikh Azam, Muneer Ahmed, Mukhtar Ahmed, Waheedul Hassan, Shehzad Akram, Asad Abbasi and others congratulated him on his unopposed election.

Govt tends to benefit farmers

The government is utilising all available resources to resolve farmers’ problems and assist them in growing crops of good quality.

Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Ch Muhammad Shafique stated at a ceremony organised here to distribute motorcycles to agriculture officers and field assistants here the other day.

“The motorcycles are being provided to agriculture officers and field assistants to enable them visit rural areas to educate farmers growing crops of good quality,” he informed, adding that the farmers are also being provided small loans, pesticides and agricultural implements on subsidised rates.

DDO Agriculture Faiz Bakhsh, Anjuman-e-Kashtkaran Vice President Ch Yaseen and PML-N spokesman Abdul Saboor Ch were also present on the occasion.


People showered Standing Committee Chairman on Water and Power Arshad Leghari with praise for installing a new 200kv electricity transformer at FFC Chowk here the other day. According to the locals, previously a 100kv transformer was installed at the chowk which, every other day, burnt due to overload. They said that after installation of the new transformer, they would not have to bear prolonged power cuts which had made their lives miserable. Councillor Mehr Khalid, Dr Mujahid and Ch Ghulam Murtaza were also present on the occasion.
