Three Afghans with fake travel documents nabbed

LAHORE - The FIA arrested three Afghan nationals trying to board a London-bound flight on fake travel documents, said a spokesman for the probe authority yesterday.

He said Waheeda Mahad, Sabza Gulnar and Nasir Khan attempted to travel from Allama Iqbal International Airport by PIA flight PK-757 to London on the basis of fake British residence documents. All the three passengers were being assisted by one Raihana Mahdizada holding British refugee documents. The spokesman said Mahdizada arrived on October 4, 2016, by flight PK-758 from London to Lahore.

The three Afghan nationals entered Pakistan through Torkham border on the same day. All the four passengers have been sent to Anti-Human Traffic Cell, Lahore, for further legal action.

The FIA team that detected the fake documents of the passengers consisted of Inspector Riaz Khan (shift in-charge), SI Zahoor Ahmad, ASI Uzma Ashiq and ASI Robina Khadim.
