At the time of elections, the political parties had made false promises with voters that they will bring a revolution in their lives. What changes have they brought in the lives of the common people? People are fighting over flour, selling their children for food. They are dying of hunger and unavailability of medicines. They are without shelter. Terrorism is destroying the Pakistani society. Oil prices are decreasing in the world market but are increasing in Pakistan. Our so-called rulers have done nothing for the oppressed people. They must keep in mind that their power and pelf is due to the precious votes of these people. When the revolution comes, they will be unable to face them and will have no option except leaving the country. They are busy in looting the resources of Pakistan by all means. There are no jobs for people but members of the parliament have been allotted 50 jobs per member violating all rules and regulations. Another bomb of increase in electricity rates is being thrown on the people of Pakistan. These people do not have refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions and other such electric appliances but a few bulbs for light at night and a fan or two. Our rulers are enjoying luxuries being paid for by the taxes of these suppressed people. -ANJUM JAMES PAUL, Faisalabad, via e-mail, September 5.
