Sarhad Games postponed

PESHAWAR (APP) - The much-awaited Sarhad Games scheduled from October 5-9 next month under the aegis of NWFP Sports Board has been postponed for indefinite period due to shortage of times between it and 31st National Games, said Director General NWFP Iltaf Umerzai on Tuesday. "We couldn't organize the Sarhad Games especially in October as 31st National Games is just around the corner to be held in November this year and lack of time come in our way to organize this event," he added. "It was a difficult task to fulfill and so as it was now decided to have the Games somewhere in March-April but at that time I'm not sure enough about the fate of the Games," Umerzai said. "We are in preparatory time by giving final touches to the venues selected for holding different events of the 31st National Games," he said. "Obviously there will be working on in the venues even during the schedule of the Sarhad Games so the possibility of organizing the Games would be beyond reality," he said.
