LAHORE The second group of doctors trained at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan is leaving for S Arabia towards the end of this month. In the kingdoms various hospitals, the Pakistani doctors will be offered attractive salary packages for their three-month stay. This was disclosed by CPSP Vice President and Lahore Regional Director Prof Khalid Masood Gondal. Addressing the concluding ceremony of the BLS and ACLS courses at the CPSPs Lahore Centre on Thursday, Dr Gondal said the first batch of doctors was coming home during the current month. The CPSPs Lahore Centre organized the ceremony in collaboration with American College of Surgeons and American Heart Association. Prof Gondal said the CPSP-trained doctors were performing duties in Saudi Arabia in a very friendly environment and at considerable remuneration due to an agreement between the institution and the Saudi Health Council. The specialist doctors who were performing duties in S Arabia were amongst the participants of these courses, he said. According to Dr Gondal, the Pakistani doctors, like their predecessors, will perform duties in all the major cities of S Arabia, including Makkah, Madina, Al-Riaz and Al-Qaseem as representatives of the CPSP and Pakistan. Their performance will supplement the repute of this institution internationally, he added. Advising the specialist doctors to learn the Arabic language before they leave for Saudi Arabia, Dr Gondal declared that the successful completion of the BLS, ACLS and ATLS courses, apart from international courses, was compulsory for these doctors. He said the CPSP had organized these courses at its Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad centres simultaneously. He further said CPSP also intends to organize such training courses within the country for trainee doctors. Course Directors Prof Mahrnood Ayaz and Dr Abrar AshrafAli are supervising these courses, he revealed.
