KARACHI – The chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hussain Mehanti has said that ruling parties should pay some heed to curb the giants of inflation and terrorism, instead of hatching conspiracies to extend their tenure through controversial ordinances.
Expressing his concerns over the situation on Saturday in a statement, he said that amid the most critical domestic and foreign situations of the country, the government was attempting to divide the nation by issuance of SPLGO 2012.
He said that at one hand inflation was touching new heights, people and even senior followers of ruling PPP were committing suicides due to poverty, northern parts of the country were burning due to terrorism and the economic hub of Pakistan was bleeding continuously. On the other hand, government was busy dividing nation, instead of uniting it against the conspiracies to weaken Pakistan.
He further said that PPP government had issued the ordinance under blackmailing of those powers who want to get Pakistan in trouble for their nefarious intentions.
Mehanti demanded the government to take solid measures to mitigate inflation, terrorism and target killing, instead of engaging the nation in non-issues and taking controversial decisions.  He further demanded the government to withdraw the ordinance and urged masses to realise the reality behind the festinating slogans of ‘Roti, Kapra and Makan’.
