LDA serves show cause notices

LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has served show cause notices to two of its officials for their involvement in preparing and processing fabricated and forged files of Mustafa Town Housing Scheme.
The officials include Assistant Chaudhry Abbas and Junior Clerk Shukar Elahi. Abbas handed over seven files No MST/451, MST/451-A, MST/67, MST/655, MST/386, MST/387 and MST/45/1-A(N) to Shukar Elahi without any cogent reason to carry out fraudulent and forged transfer proceedings.
Shukar Elahi kept these files with ulterior motives. All the files were retrieved from his cupboard as per report of the Land Development-III director, though he was not the concerned record keeper.
The two officials have been called on to show cause in writing within seven days as to why one or more of the penalties as prescribed in Section 4 of the Punjab Employees, Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006, should not be imposed on them.
Also, LDA Additional Director General (Headquarters) Mariam Kayani has ordered transfer of two officers. Mudassar Majeed, Assistant Director (General Cadre), working in Directorate of Hidden Properties; and Malik Liaqat, Field Officer, working in Directorate of C&I, have been transferred and posted in the Directorate of Recovery with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the Chehlum of Tariq Masood, the LDA director who died in a road accident on July 29, will be held on Sunday (today) at Jamia Masjid Ghousia, Auybia Market, New Muslim Town, Lahore at 10:00am.
