Interior minister Rehman Malik is likely to visit India on an invitation from the visiting Indian external affairs minister SM Krishna, Indian media reported on Sunday.

Krishna, who was on a three-day visit to Pakistan, invited the interior minister to New Delhi, Indian daily ‘Hindustan Times’ reported.

The invitation has been accepted and it is believed that Malik is likely to visit India in November, reported the daily.

A pact on liberalising the visa regime was signed by Krishna and Malik in Islamabad on Saturday.

Krishna also met his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar on Saturday. His visit ended after visiting Lahore where he met opposition leaders on Sunday.
