No deadlock over Southern Punjab province: Gilani

Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that federal government is following the directives of Supreme Court (SC) regarding holding of local bodies elections.
Talking to media persons at Multan Airport on Sunday, Yousuf Raza Gilani said that allied parties were being taken into confidence over Sindh People Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO).
He blamed that some elements were trying to politicize the issue for personal and party interests but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs.
The former prime minister said that there was no deadlock over making southern Punjab, a new province.
Gilani said that Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) was stepping backwards against its demands of constitution of commission and unanimous resolution regarding formation of new provinces.
