ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf held a detailed meeting with Balochistan Chief Secretary Babur Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad Saturday evening at Prime Minister House to discuss the current situation, specially the law and order situation prevailing in the province.
The Prime Minister had summoned the Chief Secretary to apprise him about the details of proceedings of Supreme Court which is hearing a petition regarding missing persons in Balochistan.
The Prime Minister directed the Chief Secretary to implement the orders in letter and spirit and extend all possible assistance to the Court.
Reiterating the resolve of the federal government to keep no stone unturned in locating the missing persons, he directed all federal and concerned provincial authorities to extend every possible assistance to the Supreme Court and provide it with all the information and assistance.
During the meeting, the recent policy for posting of Police and District Management Group (DMG) officers to Balochistan also came under discussion.
Raja directed Secretary Establishment Taimur Azmat Osman who was also present during the meeting to ensure implementation of the policy on posting/transfer in its essence. The Chief Secretary raised the issue of shortage of officers in the province. He directed the Secretary Establishment to post Police and DMG officers in line with the policy framed by the government.
 and meet all the requirements of the province so that all vacant positions are filled without any delay.
He said officers who would be posted in Balochistan would not only be given additional financial benefits but also permitted to retain their present official residence.
The Prime Minister said issue of Balochistan is one of his top most priorities. He said he would soon visit Balochistan and himself review situation on the ground.
He expressed the hope that the measures being taken by the government would lead to improvement of the situation in Balochistan.
