FEROZWALA - A huge financial scam involving Rs25m has been detected in Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sharaqpur.
Addressing a press briefing here on Saturday, Acting DCO Kiran Khursheed said that a team comprising Deputy District Officer Health Dr Asif Mehmood, Dr Ahmad Din and Dr Touqeer had been constituted to conduct a probe into the embezzlement. She pledged that those found guilty would be dealt with sternly.
Rs8m, 150 tolas gold looted:  Armed dacoits took away Rs8 million, 150 tolas of gold ornaments and cellphones here from the house a local landlord in wee hour of Saturday.  As per detail, a dozen dacoits barged into the house of landlord Mian Khurram in Housing Colony. They held the family members including Ali Hassan, Zaman and a servant Pervaiz hostage. The culprits collected cash amounting to Rs8 million, gold ornaments weighing 150 tolas and cellphones and fled away. Meanwhile, the Housing Colony Police claimed to have arrested one of the alleged dacoits.
The police said that raids were being conducted for the arrest of other accused.
