KARACHI – Four people were killed in separate acts of violence in different parts of metropolis while Rangers detained over half dozen suspects during targeted operation in Lyari on Saturday.

Ramzan Baloch, 40, was found dead from Northern Bypass within the limits of Manghopir police station. The body was taken into Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. Police officials said that unidentified persons tortured and shot the victim multiple times before dumping his body at the abandoned place. They said that the deceased belonged to Gwadar from where he along with three other people went missing about two weeks ago. They said that the bodies of the two missing persons including Ramaza have been found while the remaining two have yet to be recovered alive or dead.

Pak Colony police found the body of 20-year-old youth identified as Seerat Alvi, son of Javed Alvi. The body was found from Kashmir Road. Police officials said that the deceased was shot multiple times and also had several marks of torture on his body. The body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi for medico-legal formalities. Police officials said that the victim was the shopkeeper at the Rizvia market in Golimar and his body was placed in the gunny bag. They said that he was kidnapped on August 6, adding that his brother Farrukh Alvi, 24, was also kidnapped on Friday and he is still missing. Police officials said that the deceased lived in Makhdoom Colony while the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained. They said that the police were also trying to recover the victim’s brother alive or dead. Police have registered the case against unidentified persons on the complaint of victims’ eldest brother Saif Alvi.

An electrician employed at the private textile mill was gunned down in an act of target killing near KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad. The deceased was identified as Shafiq, 27, son of Shakoor. Police officials said that at least two armed riders shot and killed the victim over unexplained reasons when he on his motorcycle was going somewhere, adding that the deceased lived in North Karachi area and had no political affiliation.

Separately, Niaz Baloch, 22, son of Ahmed Baloch was shot dead in a targeted attack at Nanakwara within Risala police remit. Police officials said that the deceased belonged to Balochistan and was associated with the private goods transport company, adding that he arrived here in the city for the company’s work when unidentified culprits gunned him down. Police officials said that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, over half dozen suspects were taken into the custody during targeted raids in Lyari. According to the Rangers spokesman, the raids were conducted on a tip-off and seven suspected criminals were taken into the custody and arms and ammunitions were also recovered from their possession. The suspects, namely Omar, Zubair, Faizan, Enayat, Naseer and Rafiq were not handed over to the police as they were being questioned by shifting into undisclosed location.
