LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the daunting challenges being faced by the country will be countered at any cost.

He said Pakistanis are talented and hardworking and he has full confidence that it is capable to resolve all problems and regain its lost status in the comity of nations. He said though it will take some years but the challenges will be overcome and the nations which treat Pakistan as a beggar country will feel proud of its friendship. He said this while addressing the launching ceremony of Lord Nazir Ahmed’s book ‘Sadaqat Ki Goonj’ at a local hotel. Lord Nazir Ahmed, Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Mian Aamir Mahmood, Punjab University VC Mujahid Kamran, Raja Anwar, Brig (r) Aslam Ghuman, Sufia Bedar, Sahibzada Hamid Saeed Kazmi as well as assembly members, and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz said Pakistan is confronted with numerous challenges which have to be overcome through collective efforts. He said unfortunately it has faced worst loadshedding, corruption and bad governance during the five year’s tenure of the Peoples Party. He said courage, honesty and the spirit of hard work will have to be displayed to resolve the existing problems. He said if India is a member of G-20 today the time will come when Pakistan will also be attending such conferences and it will be known to the world as a sovereign and dignified country.

He said it is not possible through speeches but practical efforts are needed for this purpose and the nation will have to forge unity and adopt the golden principle of honesty. He said Lord Nazir Ahmed has always supported truth and righteousness and the views expressed by him reflect his vision and thinking. He said Nazir Ahmed is a straightforward and forthright person and Pakistan needs such personalities. He said Lord Nazir supported Nawaz Sharif despite the opposition of British government and his associates when he came to Pakistan in September 2007. He said Nazir has upheld truth with courage and steadfastness and his book reflects the practical efforts made by him in this regard. The function was also addressed by other participants.

Lord Nazir pays tribute to CM

Lord Nazir Ahmed on the launching ceremony of his book ‘Sadaqat Ki Goonj’ at a local hotel paid rich tributes to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and said Shahbaz Sharif has served the poor in the real sense.

He said metro bus is his excellent project for the poor who are fully benefitting from it. He said the CM worked hard due to which PML-N won a thumping success in elections. He said he has seen both the brothers very closely and they have deep spirit of public service and strong religious sentiments. He said he is meeting Shahbaz Sharif first time after elections and want to congratulate him on the victory of PML-N.

Daily Pakistan Editor-in-Chief Mujeebur Rehman Shami said Shahbaz Sharif and Lord Nazir Ahmed are similar to each other. He said the measures taken by the CM are unprecedented and has changed the course of politics. He said the victory in 2013 elections was the result of tireless efforts of Shahbaz Sharif. During the ceremony, a child presented ‘Phool’ magazine to the CM.
