KARACHI - Law enforcing agencies on Sunday arrested around 150 suspects during the ongoing targeted operation in various parts of the metropolis.

However, it is reportedly said that the law enforcers remained unable to ensure any reliable arrest, as most of the detainees were gamblers and drug-peddlers.

According to Sindh police spokesman, around 99 raids were conducted in various parts of the city and arrested 143 criminals including 27 absconders, 38 illegal arms dealers, 13 narcotics peddlers and others involved in street crimes criminal; however, 38 unlicensed weapons were also recovered from their possession.

On the other hand, Rangers also conducted operation at Chenasor Goth in Mehmoodabad.

Heavy contingent of Rangers personnel participated in the operation, cordoning off the entire locality.

No one was allowed to enter inside or go outside the area.

The Rangers personnel detained around ten suspects during the operation that lasted for almost three hours. Sources privy to the matter said that majority of the suspects were drug dealers and gamblers who were shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.
