E&T recovers Rs170m property, luxury tax

LAHORE - Excise and Taxation Punjab Property tax department recovered Rs 170 million as property tax and luxury tax from different parts of the city, said an officer of E&T on Monday.
He said that excise teams recovered Rs30 million as Luxury Tax and Rs140 million property tax from Bahria Town, Izmir Town, Raiwind Road, PCSIR, Valancia Town, DHA, EME and many other areas of Lahore. It is worth mentioning here that a campaign was launched against property tax defaulters on the direction of Director General Excise and Taxation, Ahmad Aziz Tarar who has taken the charge of his office last month. A team was constituted under the supervision of Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer (AETO), Malik Muhammad Aslam. Team members included Inspector Raja Arif, Inspector Zahid Mughal, Fayaz Wayen and Imran Ashraf. The team members served notices on tax defaulter and collected heavy tax from them in Zone 14, Region-B.
