NOORPUR THAL - With water level on the rise in Jhelum River level reaching a record high at Taitee and the Tehsil administration warned the residents of 11 villages including Sher Garh, Jaura Kalan, Taitree, Leghari, Kaka, Havaily Charagh, Burhan, Tahthi Kalan Bhan, Kayla Jagir, Tahthi Khuda Bakhsh and Havaily Majoka to shift are safer places.

The Revenue Department officials are patrolling the areas. The villagers in low-lying other areas along Jhelum River have been given warning on loudspeakers to move their livestock and other valuables to safe places.

According to AC Ch Ahsan Ullah, the tehsil administration has set up relief camps at the Govt High School Jaura Kalan and the BHC Majoka for expected affectees.

He added that the medical camps had also been set up in the areas to provide medical facilities.

Talking to the media men, Flood Sectors In-charges TMO Raja Zahoor Ahmad and Tehsildar Ahmad Nawaz said that the medical staff would remain present in the medical camps for 24 hours.

They said that tents had been provided in all the relief centres and the evacuated people would be rehabilitated in the schools and tents.

They appealed to the flood affected villagers to cooperate with the rescue officials in their evacuation for their safety. Meanwhile, the AC visited the flood-affected villages.

He met the affected people and assured them that the government would not leave them alone in their hour of need.
