Pakistan in SAFF Cup semis after beating Bhutan 3-0

Lahore - Pakistan Saturday qualified for the semi-finals of SAFF Cup after a gap of 13 years by beating Bhutan 3-0.

President PFF Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has congratulated the team players and coaching staff.

Pakistan national football team beat Bhutan by 3-0 in group A match of the SAFF Cup 2018 at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Bangladesh.

According to details Pakistan took lead in the 20th minute as Muhammad Riaz finds the Nepalese goal post.

Nine minutes later, Pakistan doubled their lead as Hassan Bashir scored goal. In the last 16 munites either Pakistan or Bhutan were not able to score. Pakistan went in the intermission 2-0 ahead.

In the second half, Two teams tried hard but none can score the goal till the added time when Faheem Ahmed (90+1) scored third time for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s historic win taking them to the semi-finals of SAFF has come after 13 years. It was 2005 when Pakistan could earn the honour to play the semis.

In his message, President PFF Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has congratulated the players and coaching staff and said that this is a well needed and deserved victory, it has given a new hope to the football family of Pakistan, team can even win this mega event by keeping up this performance, selection of the squad on merit, good training by the Brazilian coach and trainer are the considerable factors, gradually the team will gain more confidence, Pakistan World ranking will also improve soon.”
