Shoaib Malik XI beat Sarfraz XI in practice match

Lahore - Shoaib Malik XI defeated Sarfraz XI by 7 runs in a practice match played here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday. Shoaib Malik XI, batting first, scored 297 runs losing all their wickets in 49 overs.

Shan Masood emerged as top scorer as he hammered 74 runs off 80 balls with the help of nine boundaries. He was ably assisted by captain Shoaib Malik who struck 61-ball 52 hitting 3 fours while Fahim Ashraf made 43-ball 66 runs smashing 6 fours and 3 cracking sixes. Shadab Khan took three wickets conceding 58 runs while Junaid Khan bagged 2 wickets for 52.

Sarfraz XI though replied strongly yet they fell short of just 7 runs as they could score 293-5 in 43 overs. Fakhar Zaman was star of the day as he cracked unbeaten 68-ball 114 runs (retired out) with the help 13 boundaries and four sixes.

Imam ul Haq also played an impressive unbeaten knock of 65 runs (retired out) hitting three fours and two sixes. Babar Azam also played a brilliant knock of 57 runs with help of 5 boundaries and one six and captain Sarfraz contributed with 30 runs but their efforts proved futile in the end when they lost the match by 7 runs in the end. Mohammad Amir, Usman Shinwari and Haris Sohail got one wicket each conceding 48, 47 and 23 runs respectively.
