LONDON - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani met MQM Chief Altaf Hussain at partys International Secretariat at Edgware in London on Saturday.
The prime minister was accompanied by Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Pakistan High Commissioner to UK Wajid Shamsul Hassan, members of the coordination committee Mustafa Aziz and Anees advocate, besides Muhammad Anwar were also present. Before the meeting between the two leaders for reducing tension between them, the PM said experiments of technocratic governments had failed in the past and the present regime would complete its tenure. Talking to the media men, he said the MQM was their ally and they often sought guidance from Altaf Hussain. Replying a question, Gilani said Zulfiqar Mirza had given statement in his personal capacity which was quite a common phenomenon in politics.
Replying a query about reopening of ZABs case, he said it was common perception around the world that execution of Bhutto was a judicial murder and such a historical mistake needed to be corrected. The target killing in Karachi was a provincial issue, Gilani said, and the law enforcement agencies would definitely help them for eradicating this crime if ever the need be. Replying to another question about the arrest of Musharraf, he said it was a sub judice matter and whatever the decision court would announce it would be implemented. We had always respected judiciary and would continue doing the same, Gilani pledged.
