MSF takes out rally against price hike, corruption


PESHAWAR - Activists of Muslim Students’ Federation (MSF) on Monday held a protest demonstration and rally here outside the Press Club against the recent increase in petroleum products, and excessive electricity loadshedding.
The protestors, led by MSF District Peshawar President Zafrullah, Senior Vice President Faizan Khan and Vice President Zahid Afridi, took out the rally from the Government College Chowk and marched toward the Press Club. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against hike in petroleum products prices, essential commodities items, excessive loadshedding and corruption of rulers.
The infuriated protestors also chanted full-throated slogans against the incumbent rulers to control the high price and mismanagement.
Addressing the protesters, the MSF leaders alleged that since the PPP-led government has come into power, the prices of food items and petroleum products were increasing on day to day basis, adding rampant corruption has become a routine in almost all govt department. They said that jobs in government departments were on open auction, whereas the poor people are wandering for jobs despite having relevant qualification, or other requirements.
The student leaders criticizing the existing governments for excessive load shedding said that the incompetent rulers did not produce even a single megawatt of electricity, adding the corrupt officials of Pesco despite of extorting huge utility bills from poor masses every month failed to provide electricity to consumers.
They demanded of both the central and provincial governments to take practical and solid measures to overcome the menace of load shedding, and revise the prices of the petroleum products.
