Vafaei clinches Junior Snooker





KARACHI - Current world amateur champion Hossein Vafaei of Iran added another feather to his cap when he won the 13th edition of the Asian Junior Snooker champion the easy way defeating his Chinese opponent Anda Zhang by six frames to two in the final played in Goa, India on Monday, according to information received here.
The final was anti climax to the championship in which selected 32 players from across Asia were involved in close matches both in the group league and in the knock out rounds starting in the pre-quarterfinals. However the final turned out to be one sided contest in which the Iranian was so dominating that he raced to five frames lead before losing two in a row but clinched the 8th frame to wrap up the final shockingly without any resistance from his opponent.
 Hossein Vafaei Ayouri won 6-2, (121(79)-06, 87-37, 74 (74)-00, 126 (105)-06, 79(67)-05, 12-69(62), 29-76, 91-13).
The two members of Pakistan team M Majid Ali and Hunain along with manager Shabbir Hussain will return home on Tuesday. Majid Ali and Hunain won through the group league but lost in the pre quarter final knock out stage.
