Bureaucracy fails to comply with election body’s orders


ISLAMABAD - ASIM QADEER RANA  - Federal bureaucracy took a U-turn under Secretary Establishment who failed to comply with the directives of Election Commission of Pakistan to transfer the Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin mainly because of influence used by a famous property tycoon, TheNation has learnt.
According to a senior Federal official Secretary Establishment, who himself was not removed in the recent bureaucratic reshuffle, is still controlling the transfer orders of number of key Federal positions, mainly on the directives of President's Secretary General Salman Farooqi. "Taimoor Azmat is in direct contact with Farooqi and few of the transfer and postings are being managed by them (Presidency)," maintained the official.
However, on the other side, few Federal officials managed their posting orders with the help of a property tycoon and the beneficiary whose identity was leaked to media was none other then IGP Islamabad Bani Amin.
It is pertinent to mention that the new caretaker Interior Minister Malik Habib during his first Press conference announced the changing of the IG and DG FIA immediately with immediate effect mainly to adhere to the orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan. But despite passage of five days Secretary Establishment Taimoor, who is also a close associate of former Federal Minister Qamaruz Zaman Kaira, did not issue any notification of the transfer of IG Islamabad till filing of this report.
Official stated that a property tycoon of the Islamabad called the Secretary Establishment at his home and managed to stop the transfer notification of the IG Islamabad Bin Yamin.  Sources in the Islamabad capital territory police said that land mafia would manage the all pressure from any quarter regarding the transfer of IG Islamabad.  When contacted senior official of Interior Ministry about the transfer of IG Islamabad he smiled and said I think you don't know the power of the property tycoon he can manage every thing, IG Islamabad is peanut for that high profile personality.
Despite attempts the spokesman for the Presidency, Secretary Establishment and IG Islamabad Bani Amin were not available to clarify their position on an important matter of public interest.
