SHEIKHUPURA - There is no shortage of sugar in all Ramazan bazaars across the district and for this purpose the Punjab government has already provided 280 metric tons sugar to the district.

It was disclosed DCO Asad Rehman while chairing a meeting of district officers here the other day.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Miss Kiran Khurshid, EDO Agriculture Abdul Ghafoor, Assistant Commissioner Farwa Amir and others officials also attended the meeting.

The DCO directed the officers to visit and check the quality of vegetables and others daily-use items at Ramazan bazaars.

He said that the prices should not be higher than the open market.  On the occasion, EDO Agriculture Abdul Ghafoor said that the sugar was available at Rs50 per-kg while the 10-kg flour bag available at Rs220 in all 13 Ramazan bazaars across the district.

Two hurt as ambulance hits wall: Two persons including a woman received severe injuries when a speeding ambulance rammed into the boundary wall of mills situated in the remit of Factory Area Police, the other day.

As per detail, the woman was carrying her daughter's dead body in the ambulance who had died at Children Hospital Lahore. On the way near Mandiali Paper Mills, the ambulance driver lost control due to speeding and hit the wall.

As a result, the woman and the driver received critical injuries and were shifted to DHQ Hospital by Rescue 1122.
