Parliament mother of all institutions: PM



KARACHI  - Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said Thursday that the Parliament was the mother of all institutions as it had a mandate of 180 million people.
Speaking at Iftar dinner hosted by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House, he said the PPP leaders had rendered great sacrifices for democracy and laid down their lives. “Similarly, other political parties which are our allies also gave sacrifices for democracy, the Parliament and for people’s right,” he added.
Meanwhile, the prime minister giving a transparent and impartial election to the people was the utmost priority of the government to keep the democratic process continues in the country. He said continuity of democracy would be beneficial for all the people, including political parties.
He was said this during a brief chat with media at Mardan House, the residence of ANP President Sindh Shahi Syed.
Raja said the PPP-led coalition government had entered its 5th year and some of the months of the 5th year had already passed. He said all political parties had their own programmes and manifestoes, and the party emerging victorious in the coming general election it would form the government. “All of us have to serve the country,” the prime minister added.
