SADIQABAD - PPP South Punjab Secretary Information Chaudhry Jahanzeb paid a surprise visit to a Utility Store and inspected quality and quantity of different goods at Green Park in Rahim Yar Khan.

On complaints of various consumers, the secretary also announced increase in the sugar quota for the utility stores. He also asked about the store administration's problems.

He also discussed with the buyers present at the store about the standard of the items being provided at utility stores by the federal government at cheap prices.   During his surprise visit to Utility Store, he asked the consumers about availability and complaints about the daily use items being provided at the store. He disclosed that the federal government, on the special directives of Prime Minister Pervaiz Ashraf, was giving a Rs2.5 billion subsidy on the commodities at the utility stores during the holy month of Ramazan.  The secretary also said that the PPP-led government was making an all-out effort to provide relief to the masses. He added that those hatching conspiracies against the government would never succeed, expressing the hope that the PPP would come to power for the next five years as well and what he claimed steer the country out of crises.

He also directed the utility store officials to ensure availability of commodities especially edibles so that the consumers might not face hardships. He also directed that a vigilant eye be kept on hoarders and the sale of subsidised items of utility stores be stopped at common market.  He urged the public to take benefit of the subsidy being provided by the federal government.  He added that the government had decreased prices of goods at these stores to a great extent to maximum facilitate the masses.  On the occasion, the people appreciated and praised the step taken by the government to provide relief to the people during the holy month. During the visit, PPP Youth Wing president Mirza Ameen, tehsil president Nazar Hussain and city leaders were also present.
