Two PPP workers killed

KARACHI - Two people were killed while four others injured in a clash over collection of funds in Eid bazaar stalls in the remits of Pakistan Bazaar police station on Thursday.
Unknown gunmen resorted to firing at Bangla Bazaar, Orangi Town that left two workers of the PPP workers including Javaid Behari and Kamran wounded. Both the victims were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Javaid succumbed to his injures during treatment. Following the incidents, PPP workers got angry and resorted to indiscriminate firing and torched three vehicles and a taylor shop.
Angry mob also resorted to firing near Bus Stop, Bangla Bazaar that injured Adil Anwar, Muhammad Azim, Naeem, Farzana Naseem and Rani. Adil Anwar, a passer-by died on the way to hospital while rest of them were admitted to hospital with critical wounds.
Area residents when contacted said that police managed to pick up three miscreants and sized the weapons. Police however, declined to arrest of PPP activists. Various areas of Orangi Town remained tense and commercial activities suspended. Sources confirmed that the clash erupted over collection of funds in the Eid Bachaat Bazaar stalls.
