Lahore- Authorities have registered the case of a policeman’s murder today against the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, Dr. Tahirul Qadri , whose anti-government campaign has put ruling PML-N clique in trouble.
According to reports, the police constable, Muhammad Ashraf, died Saturday after being attacked by PAT workers in Lahore’s Model Town. He was admitted to General Hospital but could not survive. His funeral prayers were offered today. Officials said the case, registered with Nasirabad police station, has been filed on the complaint of the victim’s heirs. Dr. Qadri and PAT workers have been booked in the fresh FIR, bringing the number of cases registered against him to four. Sections related to terrorism, murder and attempted murder have been included in the case, officials said. Two cases have already been registered against him in Lahore and one in Islamabad on charges of inciting violence, terrorism and damage to public properties. Sources said police is likely to arrest Qadri after his party’s Day of Martyrs being observed today.
