Seven passengers including four minors, three of whom girls and two of them sisters, belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were killed when a speeding bus overturned at Pull Qamber Morr, in the wee hours of Sunday.

About 34 passengers also suffered multiple injuries in the accident, occurred 30-km away from Taunsa city on Indus Highway, the interprovincial road linking Punjab with KP province.

The driver of Karachi-bound passenger bus (C-2829 Swat), on the way from Buner, lost control of the speeding vehicle at Pull Qamber Morr, near Shahdan Lund town due to which it overturned. As a result, seven passengers died on the spot and 34 others suffered multiple injuries. The injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters 9THQ) Hospital Taunsa by Rescue 1122. It took the 26 rescuers of the Punjab Emergency services almost 5 hours to complete the rescue operation. The rescuers said that the incident occurred owing to speeding.

The deceased passengers were identified as Nasir Khan, 30, a resident of Karak; Ahmed Din, 35, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan; five-month-old Shehan Ali; 18-month-old Alwera and three-year-old Hiba (both sisters); three-year-old Jaweria and 32-year-old Muhammad Sher.
