LAHORE - Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Raffique said on Sunday that medical facilities are being provided to the flood affectees with full zeal and zest.
He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif almost 202 medical teams are serving in 107 union councils of eight flood hit districts Dera Ghazi Khan, Khushab, Jhang, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Mianwali, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur and more than one lakh 22 thousand flood affectees have been provided treatment facilities so far.
He said that medical teams have administered polio drops to 18198 children, 14193 children vaccinated against measles and 5470 pregnant women vaccinated against tetanus.
He said that lady doctors have conducted medical check of 302 pregnant women during the last 24 hours in flood hit areas and 2 persons of dog bite were vaccinated. Khawaja Salman Raffique further said that aquapura tablets and packets of ORS are also being distributed in the flood hit areas to save children and elders from diarrhea and dehydration.
Moreover, provision of medicines and attendance of staff is being ensured in medical relief camps.
