Karachi - Rangers asked people of Karachi to ignore the strike called by a political party today, reported a private TV channel.

The paramilitary force urged traders and businessmen to file complaint on helpline 1101 if anyone forces them to shut their business.

Earlier, MQM Coordination Committee gave a peaceful strike call in Sindh for today over the extrajudicial killing of a young party worker, Muhammad Hashim.

Muahmmad Hashim who was the member of Unit 164 Liaquatabad was going to his house from Nine Zero on the evening of May 6, when Rangers arrested him and took him to an unkhown place, the party said in a statement. It added his whereabouts were not known and his family filed a petition in the Sindh High Court for his recovery. On which an FIR was registered on July 28 on the orders of SHC as a missing person.

After three months of his captivity Hashim's body was found from Jamshoro area, the statement said. His body has already been buried by Edhi.

MQM has vehemently condemned the extrajudicial killing of Hashim and has given a strike call for today in Sindh. MQM chief Altaf Hussain has also endorsed the strike call given by the party's Coordination Committee.
