LAHORE - Speedy trucks Sunday crushed two women to death while four others sustained injuries in different accidents in the city.

In the first incident, a woman was killed while her infant son and another woman injured when a speeding truck rammed into a rickshaw in Shahdara police limits.

Police said two women and an infant child were going to Kot Abdul Malik on a rickshaw when a truck collided head on with their rickshaw. The victims sustained severe injuries and truck driver fled the scene.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where one woman yet to be identified succumbed to her injuries and others were said to be critical. Police reached the spot, impounded the truck.

In other incident, Akmal of Shadbagh, his son Mughees, 5, and mother-in-law Razia, 55, were going to Gujjarpura on motorcycle when a speeding truck coming from opposite side rammed into them.

The victims suffered critical injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced Razia dead on arrival and Akmal and his son were said to be in stable condition. Police arrested the driver Kabul Khan, impounded the truck and registered case against the diver.

13 children recovered: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) have recovered 13 missing children and reunited them with their families.

PHP officials recovered Sonia, Wajad Hussain, Imran, Khubab, Ghazanfar, Hamza, Amna Batool, Imran, Sabeel, Ayaz, Abbad Ullah, Manan and Qasim and handed over to their parents.

Meanwhile, officials also arrested 18 criminals and recovered wood, 150Kg unhygienic meat,illicit arms and narcotics from their possession. Later, PHP officials handed over the accused and items to police for legal action.
