India registers 28,204 new COVID-19 cases

The global death toll from the coronavirus has reached 4.3 million, while over 203.3 million cases have been detected, according to Baltimore, Maryland's Johns Hopkins University, which tracks and compiles data from federal and local authorities, the media and other sources.

The US is still the most-affected nation amid the pandemic; over 35.9 million have been infected and the death toll exceeds 617,000. Next is India, with over 31.9 million confirmed cases and more than 428,000 deaths; followed by Brazil, with 20.1 million confirmed cases and over 563,000 fatalities.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday recommended that US travellers avoid visiting France, Israel, Iceland and Thailand due to a growing number of coronavirus cases.
