LAHORE A Constitutional petition has been filed in the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court to seek reopening of the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case who was hanged in 1979 during the then Martial Law regime of General Ziaul Haq, on the charges of ordering murder of Nawab Muhammad Ahmad during his tenure as Prime Minister. The petition has been filed by Advocate Ilamuddin Ghazi inter alia contending that Bhutto was put to gallows under pressure of the then government and an admission to this effect has even been made by former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Nasim Hasan Shah in an interview. The petitioner contended that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was also not provided appropriate opportunity to defend his case as such his execution may be declared unlawful and termed a judicial murder.
