ISLAMABAD – A high-powered official delegation headed by Lu Shumin, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), along with his delegation visited Lok Virsa Heritage Museum here at Shakarparian.

The visit programme was coordinated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Chinese Embassy in Islamabad. On arrival, the distinguished guest was warmly received by senior museum officers of Lok Virsa and taken to the three-dimensional creative displays of the Pakistan’s National Museum of Ethnology, popularly known as Heritage Museum, depicting living cultural traditions and lifestyles of the people of the country.

Lok Virsa’s representatives briefed the visiting dignitary about salient features of the Pakistan’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage with special focus on the mandate and functioning of Lok Virsa as specialised cultural institution.

Lu Shumin took keen interest in the hall on “Link Passage with China” portraying Pakistan’s cultural affinities and influences with the friendly country People’s Republic of China where the space for display has been provided by Pakistan and the artifacts and exhibits were donated by the Chinese side as a gift to the people of Pakistan from the government and people of China.
