PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister, Bashir Ahmad Bilour said that Pakhtuns were confronted with the third world war in the region, adding that they would prefer dying to bowing down before terrorists.

He said this while addressing a function on the eve of International day of Human rights here on Sunday.

He said that some people were saying that this war was not the war of Pakhtuns but they were totally wrong, adding that if it is not their war then why their children were being killed and why their mosques were being targeted.

He said that Awami National Party sacrificed two ministers and 550 workers in this war and if ANP had not been standing against terrorists then they would have caused complete destruction in this province. “Terrorists want to leave Pakhtuns in the dark so that our children could not acquire any education. But we will not allow them to accomplish this nefarious desires,” he vowed. He said that despite the critical situation they would provide more opportunities to women in this society, as getting education is the basic right of both males and females.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the Governor’s Exhibition Polo Cup held under the aegis of the Peshawar Polo Club wherein the Champion’s trophy was lifted by its White arm by defeating the red with five goals against two. President of the club and the renowned industrialist, Raza Kuli Khan along with his colleagues received the governor on his arrival at the Pologround here on Sunday afternoon. 

Later on, the governor gave away trophy to the PPC White which was received by its Captain, Maj Shayan Abbasi alongwith his colleagues, Subaidar Muhammad Hussain, Captain Mussaddaq Hussain and Hawaldar Israr.

Trophies to individuals were also given which besides the winners, were also received by the runner up team, comprising Left. Saad, Swar Rider Alamgir, Captain Asif and Hawaldar Shahzad. Quite a good number of fans of polo were also present on this occasion.
