KARACHI – Hundreds of children and students on Sunday participated in a walk organised by the Youth Together for Human Rights Education in connection with the World Human Rights Day.  Starting from Atrs Council, Chowrangi, the walk of the students from different public and private schools marched to the Press Club, led by YTHRE chief Fareeda Abbasi. In her address to the participants of the walk, Abbasi said the primary objective of the YTHRE was to aware the people about their rights. She opined that such an awareness drive had to be started at the gross-root level and by educational institutions.  She said the YTHRE had been working for the past eleven years to educate children and teachers about the human rights. “We all are born free. Being humans we are equal. It is our right to live on an equal basis, without any religious, ethnic, national and sectarian discrimination,” she added. She said if the people learned about their basic rights, then no one could highjack them in society.
