LAHORE - Pakistan Railways Lady School Teachers Association held a protest demonstration against non confirmation of their service on Sunday.

The protesters were protesting carrying placards displaying slogans against the Railways authorities and appealing the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take suo moto action as it was a matter relating to the fundamental rights of downtrodden Pakistani lady teachers who could not afford to engage a professional lawyer to fight their case in the court of law.

Lady teachers blamed that even lower staff like drivers and others were taking more than Rs 30,000 monthly salary with all benefits like free medical, official residence and free transport facilities whereas the teachers were getting only Rs 7,500 per month without any other facility. Besides, they were teaching for years but they are still working as temporary employees, the teachers said.
