LAHORE - Director General, NAB Punjab Justice (Retd) Khurshid Anwar Bhindar on Sunday said that that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was playing an important role in mega corruption cases while there was a need of collective efforts for the eradication of this menace from the country.
NAB Punjab justice (Retd) Khurshid Anwar Bhindar expressed these views while addressing a function in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day at Alhamra Arts Council. He said that all concerned institutions were fully active to denounce the society of corruption. Director NAB Punjab Attiqur Rehman, senior government officers, students and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Khurshid Anwar Bhinder said that besides NAB, different agencies including FIA and Anti-Corruption Establishment were also working in all provinces while the government was also endeavoring for the eradication of corruption.
Paying tributes to the NAB team, he said that it was determined to recover every penny of the looted money.
He said that the NAB had taken action against every corruption case and held accountability without any discrimination. Referring to double Shah case, he said that eight billion rupees had been returned to the people so far due to action by NAB. He also appreciated the role of media for raising voice against corruption. DG NAB further said that corruption could be rooted-out from the society by following the teachings of the Holy Quran and Hadith.
The function was also addressed by position-holder students from various districts. In the end, Justice (Retd) Khurshid Anwar Bhinder led a walk from Alhamra Arts Council to Punjab Assembly Chowk.
