QUETTA - Balochistan National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director General Syed Burhanuddin has said that corruption ratio is higher in the province as compared to the past and complaints of corruption are being received from all the departments.
Addressing a NAB seminar on the International Corruption Day on Sunday, he said the charges of corruption against the six provincial ministers of Balochistan were being investigated, adding references would be sent to the courts against them after the completion of the probe.
“No pressure will be accepted in this regard,” he said and added the NAB had devised a strategy to deal with corruption. He said they were collecting evidences against the accused ministers and they would not be spared if found guilty. “Law is equal for all and no pressure will be accepted in this regard,” he said. He disclosed the NAB had focused on development projects and pounce over big crocodiles rather than netting clerical staff.
Addressing the seminar, Balochistan Chief Secretary Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad praised the civil society for their struggle against the eradication of corruption.
He said corruption was a curse and it was the duty of all politicians, government officials and others to strive for its eradication. He directed the government officials to discharge their duties honestly.
