The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Punjab University Institute of Social & Cultural Studies (ISCS) held a joint five-day training workshop at a local hotel to address the issues of gender based violence and access to justice for women and juvenile.  Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, director of ISCS, and Prof Aisha K Gill from the University of Roehampton, UK, trained the participants on how to tackle issues of domestic violence and sensitized them on sexual politics and construction of gender roles.  Dr Rubeena delivered a series of lectures on GBV, public health, human rights and the role of stakeholders in all these issues. Dr Rana Malik from Gender Studies Department, PU and Sevim Sadat Musawi along with some other academicians also addressed to the participants on various issues related to GBV. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Astrid Bosch from the GIZ distributed certificates among the workshop participants. PU College of Earth and Environmental sciences will organize a conference regarding energy crisis and its solutions on Monday December 10, 2018 at 10 am Law College Auditorium. Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, State Minister for Climate Change Mrs Zartaj Gul Wazir and other well known personalities from public and private sector will participate. –Staff Reporter
