Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif was granted a one-day transit remand to attend the upcoming National Assembly session.
The former chief minister of Punjab was transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore and was brought to Islamabad by the police team after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court on Monday granted the PML-N leader remand.
The minister’s enclave has been turned into a sub-jail, where Shehbaz would be kept.
Earlier, Shehbaz's transit remand was requested by prosecutor Waris Januja after he submitted a request, which stated that the PML-N president has to be flown to Islamabad to attend the NA session, on behalf of the jail superintendent.
