The Supreme Court (SC) has directed Election Commission (EC) to submit record in Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif eligibility case. A three-member bench of SC headed by Justice Javed Iqbal heard the petition filed by Shahid Orakzai against eligibility of Shahbaz Sharif, a private TV reported. The petition stated that according to constitution, a person elected as a member assembly on two seats should vacate first seat. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had resigned from Rawalpindi seat so according to constitution; Shahbaz has been disqualified from Bhakar seat. He is not a member of assembly at the moment therefore he is not eligible to perform duties as chief minister. Supreme Court has directed Khawaja Haris, lawyer of Shahbaz Sharif to submit comprehensive reply in next hearing. Justice Javed Iqbal in his remarks said detail decision will be given after hearing of Shahbaz Sharif eligibility case. He said Supreme Court is giving decision in accordance with constitution and law. The next hearing of the case will be held on February 18.
