Khosa wants Bo Kata with Nawaz

LAHORE - Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa is much eager to fly kites along with PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif during the upcoming basant festival provided the committee set up for the purpose gives a go-ahead signal. Talking to reporters on Wednesday after inaugurating Tulip Flower Show at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, the governor said he would like to enjoy the support of Nawaz Sharif and also invited the general public to join them. Khosa said the committee established to formulate recommendations regarding the coming event should properly consider all aspects of the sport and the top priority should be to ensure lives of the people. Every body will like kites on the sky with colorful lights at night, but this should not be at the cost of lives, he observed. Talking about the flower exhibition, the governor said such events portray soft image of Pakistan. He said he had also shared this view with the chief minister that parks, flowers and greenery was very essential to provide recreation to the young generation. The governor said he had also asked students of the universities, schools and colleges to come forward to make the country beautiful by planting trees and flowers. Replying to a question, he said all leaders of the political parties wanted the system of democracy to continue despite differences of opinion on certain issues. President Asif Ali Zardari had convened the APC in order to discuss the issues faced by the people, he told. Later, talking to victim of bomb blast near Urdu Bazar, the governor said terrorism and extremism had no place in Islam as it gave the lesson of love, peace and harmony. He had invited the injured persons at the Governors House who had been discharged from the Mayo. Khosa said he was pleased to be in the company of such brave and courageous people and said this was public Governors House.
