KHYBER AGENCY  - Health officials held a protest demonstration against Essential Services Act (ESA) here on Tuesday.

The doctors and paramedical staff did not discharge their duties and work in outpatient departments (OPDs) remained suspended, however emergency was open to provide treatment to serious patients.

They also tied black bands on their arms to protest the act implemented by provincial government.

The protesting doctors said they would continue their protest till withdrawal of the ESA.

On the other hand, the agitation multiplied miseries of the ailing tribesmen and patients including female and children who had to go back to their homes without getting medical aid, locals said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the provincial government of KP had imposed ESA to restrain the health officials from protesting in favour of their demands.
