ISLAMABAD - The Financial Advisor to finance ministry Tuesday refuted the allegation leveled by Chairman Board of Director National Insurance Company Limited and said that all the claims are baseless.

In a contradiction issued in response to the news appeared in The Nation, under the caption “Over 100 NICL staff getting salary for doing nothing” Alamdar Hussain Malik, Financial Advisor to the finance division, said that there is no truth in chairman BoD NICL letter to the prime minister. The said news is based on the letter of Muhammad Ameen Bandukda, Chairman, Board of Director (BoD), National Insurance Company Limited addressed to the Prime Minister and its copy is available with The Nation.

Alamdar Malik asserted that no law/rules debar Finance Division to appoint a veterinarian to the position of Financial Adviser. He further said that allegation that “I tried to get the position of Adviser of NICL for Rs150,000/- is completely baseless and reflect the low mentality of the Chairman of BoD,” In 81st Meeting of the BoD upon the recommendation of HR Committee of the BoD, the BoD decided to hire my expertise,” he said. This issue was again discussed in 83rd Meeting of the BoD and an offer letter was issued under the signature of GM (HR &T).

“I refused to accept the offer on retainer ship basis and offered my services without any remuneration,” he clarified.

Alamdar also contested the allegation leveled by Bandukda regarding using the NICL vehicle and said that it is baseless. He demanded NICL BOD’s chief to provide the details of the expenditure incurred by the NICL to the vehicle I was using with the bifurcation of petrol and repair /maintenance cost.
