islamabad - The Islamabad High Court yesterday issued notices to chief commissioner Islamabad in a petition seeking computerisation of land revenue record of rural areas of the federal capital. A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah conducted the hearing of the petition and directed the chief commissioner Islamabad to submit his reply in this matter and adjourned the proceedings.
Aziz-ur-Rehman, a resident of Islamabad, moved the petition through his counsel Yasir Mehmood Chaudhary Advocate and cited chief commissioner, ICT, deputy commissioner, additional deputy commissioner general revenue Islamabad and Tehsildar Islamabad as respondents. The petitioner adopted in the petition that this step of Islamabad Capital Territory administration would help eliminate corruption and benefit the villagers. Advocate Yasir stated in the petition that the petitioner is a villager and having some agricultural and residential land in the rural areas of Islamabad and he is directly aggrieved by the carelessness and neglected attitude and unjust policies of the respondents due to which the petitioner and the public at large suffer in the hands of respondents, particularly from the Patwaris (revenue officials), due to non-computerisation of land revenue record of Islamabad rural areas.
He said that there are 112 Mauzas (villages) of the Islamabad Capital Territory and record of land in Islamabad Rural Areas could not be computerised despite announcement by the respondents, so unregistered land called Shamlat has become a reason for the rising numbers of cases among the villagers.
The counsel added that his client sent an application dated 17.10.2015 to the respondent No.1 for the computerisation of land record in the rural areas of Islamabad but the respondents did not pay any heed towards this genuine problem of the petitioner. 
As a result, he filed the instant writ petition to seek the computerisation of land revenue record of the rural areas. He prayed to the court to direct the respondents number 1 & 2 to make the land revenue record computerised of the rural areas of Islamabad for the elimination of corruption and for the convenience of villagers.
He requested the court to direct the respondents number 3 & 4 to ensure the presence of Patwaris in their Patwar circle instead of visiting the lucrative housing societies.
The petitioner further requested the court to direct the respondents number 2 to issue the orders of arrest of those partwaris who keep unauthorised so-called assistants for handling the public revenue record/public documents in their Patwar offices.
