"The team's performance has been up-to-the-mark in the initial two matches. I am very much optimistic that it will return home with gold medal," Shahbaz said on Tuesday. Pakistan Whites hockey team defeated Sri Lanka in the first match and in the second match on Monday, they defeated traditional rivals India 2-1 at Guwati. Shahbaz said India were Pakistan's main rivals but after Monday's win against them Pakistan boys appeared more confident to clinch the gold medal.
