RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has initiated a health scheme for 10 districts of the province, including the Rawalpindi district.

Under the scheme, initially 10 districts of the province will have family health clinics and Kotli Sattian will have the first health unit by June.

The health unit will be set up in Kotli Sattian headquarters hospital at a cost of Rs12.747 million. District Population Welfare Officer Shireen Sukhan confirmed that the health unit will start functioning from June. She said that the facility will also have surgical unit as well. A source in the health department said that a summary seeking release of funds has already been sent to the provincial government for approval at the earliest.
